Gamekeepers fairAfter 17 successful years at Shugborough, BASC is moving its Gamekeepers’ Fair to the grounds of Catton Park, Catton Hall in South Derbyshire.
The move will allow the 2006 fair, on the 8th and 9th of April, to expand and provide a better service to visitors and trade members.
Catton has been in the hands of the same family since 1405, and the present Hall, built in 1745, is the home of Robin and Katie Neilson. The elegant surroundings will help to ensure the excellent standards of the Gamekeepers’ Fair are maintained whilst the extra space available will mean even more trade stands and attractions.
The new location will also offer a separate clay ground – adjacent to the fair. BASC shotgun coaches will be there to provide tuition for all levels of experience. BASC staff will be on hand to offer advice on issues such as avian ‘flu and the new game meat hygiene regulations.
Carl Cox, BASC Midland regional director said: "The Gamekeepers’ fair is always a special event, and gives a unique opportunity for ‘keepers from all over the country to meet, exchange news and stock up. We are pleased to be to be able to expand the event in the grounds of Catton Hall." ENDS
