I would imagine that most police forces in the country are close to being in the same position.

The police are constantly trying to massage the crime figures down. It doesn't help their targets to go out and discover more problems that they are probably never going to get a resolution on.

It's not just the fish, our local park has a big duck pond with a good number of overfed ducks Gradually it became really obvious that the duck population was reducing Nobody was ever caught, it was as though nobody in the council or the police wanted to address the issues it would have raised.

It will never be illegal to buy or possess lead ammunition. Only it's use in some applications will be illegal. Our club will continue to use lead ammo on our ranges and at Bisley. Target shooting will still use lead or lead based ammo but there will be a cost involved to de-lead the ranges regularly. Whatever regularly may mean. All NATO ammo should now be non toxic, not because of the lead ban but because of the Geneva Convention so MOD ranges will not come under the ban. However, it remains to be seen whether the MOD will allow clubs use their ranges in future. So far, target shooting with lead free projectiles has not generated the required level of accuracy and consistency

And muzzle loaders, there are more of them about than most people realise because they tend to be used by members of special interest clubs like MLAGB. There was supposed to have been a dispensation for muzzle loaders and small calibres but it didn't happen. Why not? Also, Bisley has said they will still allow lead rifle bullets for target shooting but that's just one range. As far as I know the MOD have not commented on what their plans are for the dozen or more ranges around the country that they own and allow civilian clubs to hire.

Of course, why do you think they work there. They get first pick of what comes in When my late mother worked in a charity shop more than half the good stuff never made it out into the shop, it was sold to dealers

The problem comes down to nowhere near enough police officers. When I lived in upstate New York , if I phoned 911 at 10 o'clock in the evening to say somebody had broken into my garage and stolen a lawn mower I would have had a minimum of three police cruisers outside my house within 15 minutes. The reason being, they were bored and looking for something to do. Very different to our police

I do quite a lot of searching on Companies House but it's not that quick. Life is too short to search the records of every care company in Hampshire and all their directors

I'm not sure they are going to say on their websites what nationality they are.

How would you know the nationality of whoever owns the care agency? Or any other business for that matter?
