Voting age to be lowered to 16
Perhaps voting should be for those who have contributed (tax and NI) for a number of years? Just a thought.

Voting age to be lowered to 16
They had included it in their manifesto. In fact it may benefit the greens and any Corby/Sultana party more than Labour. They have the numbers in Parliament to get it through

The Game Fair 25th-27th July
No, I think those days are gone. I guess I'm lucky as I have in a 50+ year time shooting (60+ if you include fishing!) bought pretty much all I want and need in terms of 'kit' to see out my remaining sporting days. Whilst I do enjoy the game fair (and get BASC members entry, and Ragley is not far for me to go), it is still a long day - especially if it is hot. I don't think there are the 'bargains' to be had now as the internet is the place for those, I don't want or need any guns, kit, or anything else sold there. I did enjoy watching the fishing demonstrations, but not much was happening on my last visit. My friends who do visit are calling in for tea on the way back, so I shall see them in the ease of my own home.

The Budget
As predicted in this very forum - now we have unemployment up as well. In fact - growth seems about the only thing that is down.

The Game Fair 25th-27th July
I have been to Ragley (for the fair) and they did have a pool and casting etc., but the more recent times I have been the fishing orientated part has been very small and poor. I haven't been for a few years now, so it may have recovered but last time I went (Hatfield?) - there was very little fishing content. I always enjoyed watching the casting demos. Another thing (like shooting) where I have plenty of 'room for improvement' as they say!

The Budget
....... andf it's up again - from 3.4% to 3.6%. (the May figure of 3.5% quoted above was I think revised to 3.4%) BBC NewsUK inflation unexpectedly jumps to 3.6% as food prices ri...The figure for June marks the fastest rate of inflation, which measures how quickly prices are rising, since January 2024.

A spoonful of redcurrant jelly goes well in vennison mince/casserole/stew dishes.

Looks very nice. I'm also fond of a beef mince dish. Lovely with a piece of crumbled fried bread (or crumbled bread fried!) as a topping.

Which Biscuit?
I think I tried those and was 'un-impressed'. From memory the caramel layer was microscopically thin and the only part to which it added was the price.

Tandorri breast
Looks very nice. On the whole I prefer breast meat on chicken, but it can go dry very easily. The thigh meat is better ......... if you get a good lot, but some is badly prepared (bone sinew bits etc.) and takes time to 'sort through'.

battery time
If you intend to keep the car, pay for a 'decent one'. If you don't intend to keep the car, a budget one should do 5 years I guess. My only car with 'stop/start' I turn off every time (assuming I remember). Annoyingly you can't turn it off permanently. I put a new battery on my (200 tdi) Defender in 1995, then again in 2008 - and that one is still going fine.

Which Biscuit?
Not in this weather though.
