February 2, 20223 yr comment_3919671 I have seen one Brown and several White Crows and a black Crow behind my house with alot of white in it's wings, very distinctive.
February 2, 20223 yr comment_3919696 Shot a lot over the years but never with a white feather. Would it be a local thing?
February 2, 20223 yr comment_3919792 Hi Good Shot I’ve shot a few. There are a few about, I don’t shoot them now or the (white woodpigeon). l shot this Canada about five years ago near St Helens . I have some unusual photos. I will look for them and show them.
February 3, 20223 yr Author comment_3919825 Thanks Gas seal, that beak is special, I have only seen an all white Crow once many years ago while fishing the Ribble. Other than the Starling (attached) this Crow is the only other Leucistic one I have come across.
February 4, 20223 yr comment_3920111 There's been one like this around my work for the last few years.

February 5, 20223 yr comment_3920576 We have a white/off grey one we had stuffed now in the local(centrally located in the shoot).
February 5, 20223 yr comment_3920662 Hi the way you photographed it it looks like something from a horror picture. After watching the Alfred Hitchcock film the birds on the cinema ,on the bus home we were talking about the best crow decoys , teddy bears with glass eyes, white ferrets, and dead rabbits. A man joined in saying try a feather pillow, the bus conductor was the best he said just use a cardboard cutout of Tippi Hedren . When I was still at school the older men wouldn’t shoot crows.
February 6, 20223 yr comment_3921113 I'd have said it's a rook as well from the size of the bird and the silver/grey beak but it doesn't really matter. I've seen a handful of semi-leucistic ones like this, either a symmetrical lack of colouring such as yours or random, uneven patches of white.
February 7, 20223 yr comment_3921120 I can see why some would think it’s a rook initially because of the unusual ventral presentation, and reflections lightening the bill. However the feather-covered nares and ‘wattle’ are just about visible to confirm it is a crow.
May 15, 20223 yr comment_3945670 There was a jackdaw with lots of brown feathers on its wings this morning sat on a roundabout near town. Could have picked it off with a spud gun it was that close!
