I figure that anything stood upright and unrestrained can - which means eventually, will - fall over. To prevent this any restraint means whatever it is is not immediately available when required. A couple of trip flare pickets with the lower prong cut off and the top one suitably padded means that not only is the gun safer but when picked up is already pointing in the direction you need it to.

Hello, I have one,  3 leg and folds up like some mini rifle sticks, yes it would take up some space but it still secures a shotgun when not shooting
