February 9Feb 9 comment_4190620 Have ordered a quantity of mixed flies from above, mostly wets, few nymphs, hopefully good quality, very reasonably priced. Counting the days till 1st of March.. hopefully have a bit of luck, and a couple of trout sizzling in butter..

Hello, Ok well good luck on that, Many years ago on my visits to Ennistymon Co Clare i use to trout fish on Lockeen Lough and the local river. Beach fish at Lahinch , Also fished on the Moy at Ballina Oh happy days, For the money they are about the best Trout Flies you can buy, All being well i may get a day or 2 on Farmoor near Oxford, Any Trout type river like the Windrush is most polluted ? , I use to have a Day or 2 down in Salisbury in Mayfly time on the Avon and Nadder using Cane and Silk line but pollution again, I hope your rivers are better ?? In this modern eara nearly every river has some form of pollution, some desperately devastated, our "uisce eireann " are nearly the worst culprits, along of course with agriculture.. but still alot in good enough order. And hold plenty of Trout. I like to fish wilder mountain rivers and mountain lochs.. some lovely rivers, lochs over in the west were you were, and the moy was a mecca at one time for salmon, alas was a different world back then, now the salmon have depleted to critical low numbers.

Hello, Yes it is a shame on the UK rivers but there are some still in good order, They gave me a Membership for Lickeen but i think that has finished from what i read, There was another small river in Ballina called the Brusna and fished that a few times, Yes it is a shame about the Salmon numbers, It was always busy with people fishing when i was there years ago.
